Abilene has been the proud home of the Dyess Airforce base since the 1940s, originally known as the Tye Army Air Field. It provides training for our nation’s finest and has played a major role in supporting our nation’s safety over the generations.
With the unveiling of the new B-21 Stealth Bomber and the announcement of its presence at Dyess AFB, Abilene looks forward to a vibrant continued relationship with the United States Airforce, providing housing and community for those who serve.
